A Brief Introduction of PredCSF
Conotoxins are disulfide-rich small peptides that are invaluable channel-targeted peptides and target neuronal receptors. They show prospects for being potent pharmaceuticals in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy. Accurate prediction of conotoxin superfamily would have many important applications towards the understanding of its biological and pharmacological functions.

The web server PredCSF (Predicting Conotoxin SuperFamily) was developed by using modified one-versus-rest SVMs. The SVMs'input features are composed of physicochemical properties, evolutionary information, second structure and amino acid composition. Each SVM classifier's output is the probability assigned to a superfamily.

For a query protein sequence, it will get the desired result with higher than 90% of success expectancy.

For more information, refer to the original paper that has documented the predictor.
Caveat
To obtain the predicted result with the expected success rate, the mature peptide of the query protein in Fasta format and its full sequence should be used as input.
